This brand has become synonymous with high-fashion in a very short span of time. It has become the preference of many high and mighty people. This label was launched by the American designer Rachel Comey in 2001. Since then it has crossed many milestones in fashion and has been able to successfully create a niche for itself in this industry. Every piece of work has a distinct sense of aesthetics and art that separates it from the rest. A look at the creations would tell you how artistic the designer is in her vision.

Rachel Comey as a label started out as an only-menswear brand. The men’s collection received rave reviews in the fashion fraternity and it became a renowned brand. Women started showing immense interest in the brand and this perhaps fuelled the birth of the women’s wear as well. And finally in 2003 the women’s wear was launched under the label. It was such a stupendous success that the label started focusing more on the women’s wear so much so that it hardly comes out with any men’s wear collection these days. Rachel Comey is known for its pretty and elegant women’s wear that is sure to make any women more beautiful. The gorgeous collection not only looks fabulous but breaks new grounds. Every collection looks unique and sets new rules of fashion.

The Rachel Comey label came into limelight after David Bowie wore one of Rachel Comey shirts on Letterman. The American designer’s work was also featured in the 2002 Whitney Biennial which catapulted it to the higher echelons of fashion. The peculiarity of her collections is the fact that they have a vintage feel to them with a dash of rock and roll touch. This makes her designs completely unique and popular with those who like cool statements in fashion. Though the label isn’t involved in men’s wear anymore, it does create unisex shoes that are appealing to both the sexes. A number of Hollywood personalities have showed interest in her designs. Some of the esteemed clients of the designer are: Beck, David Bowie, Courtney Love, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kirsten Dunst, Adrien Brody.
